Trailer: The Unborn
My personal winning trailer from the Comic Movie and Media Expo in london was the Unborn. There were other great trailers, but all big films I had heard of already. Previous winners have included the likes of Nightwatch, can my first impressions to it again. David S. Goyer is a great writer, so fingers crossed that Michael Bay hasn't done anything stupid with it!

Willard is a Knave

Cool news for all you Willard fans out there (that may be just me). The star Crispin Glover is going to be cast in the new Alice film by Tim Burton, also starring Johnny Depp. This is great news, maybe then we will get a Willard 2, where he escapes the house, and brings death and destruction to his old rat army with a new army of mutant lizards.
We can only hope.
Trailer: Underworld 3
I thought this had been completely forgotten about, but here it is, the prequel to underworld. More kickass vampires and werewolves. I am so going to watch it.

Trailer: JCVD

I really have no idea what just happened, I was sitting at my desk being all mature and the like. And all of a sudden the trailer for JCVD appears in my rss feed. So I pondered what i'd hear, that it was an interesting look at Van Damme and the downside of fame. My eyes rolled, I love timecop, it was new and different, this just sounded old hat. But what the hey, some high kicks and i'll be happy right... HELL YEAH!
Whilst there are high kicks (particularly funny scene towards the end of the trailer) this film looks an interesting take on a real actor's visual metaphor for the industries influence on people, and what it can push them towards. This may be as interesting to me as 'I am Bruce' (of which I am hoping for a cinema release still).

New Who in 2010?
Wow, sci-fi wire has some interesting geek news about Doctor Who. The rumours regarding David Tennant leaving the show have been abundant for some time. And now, a rumour surrounding the new doctor. Paterson Joseph is an awesome actor whose credentials include the awesome series Neverwhere, parts in green wing, and the recent Jekyll amongst others. I think he would be awesome, and hopefully would add a slightly more sinister layer to the doctor's mythos, as his character in Neverwhere was very much the hero to me, yet you never would trust him.
Lets wait and see what happens next.

Trailer: Push

Interesting trailer. It looks as though it could be a good, simple action film. The sets seem few, but often get destroyed. The cast are all actors/actresses that, in my opinion, can and have done some good work (if you are questioning Chris Evans, I cant help think his character in Boyles' Sunshine was awesome). Hopefully this will be a cross between x-men 2 and taken, possibly with some unnecessary flying camera shots too.

Adult Henson

Awesome, Henson is making an adult film called 'The Happytime Murders' with puppets and people. Whilst it sounds very roger rabbit to me, I will still be interested. Henson Co did the awesome characters in the farscap series, so they are quite capable of doing weird and adult. Fingers crossed.
Basic synopsis
- Puppets an humours coexist
- Puppets are second class citizens
- Puppets start getting murdered
- It's 'adult' (hopefully not in the sense of torchwoods first series though).

Trailer: Valkyrie

Just to be clear, I am looking forward to this film, 50% of Cruises modern films are really good, and I get the feeling this could be one of them. This is an english speaking film, and with that, a tightrope is prepared. Singer has chosen well, now shabby german accents whilst speaking english in this trailer, oh no. Just plain english/american. Whilst a german language film would have been equally as good, I see no reason to cut off such a large proportion of cinema-goers that this film could in many ways educate whilst entertain.
BUT... this trailer made a common error, at the end, in a booming deep voice, is HIM! I don't know his name, but I want to slap him, I know the film is called Valkyrie, it says so in block capitals on the screen, yet he feels he needs to remind me. The shit!

London destroys the world!

I'm sure I am not the only one finding this funny. But Danny Glovers new film is with Roland Emmerich, and as usual, Emmerich is destroying the world. Apparently, the Mayan calendar believes it will all end in 2012. The film is called 2012. And London hosts the olympics in 2012. Oh joy, fingers crossed that Boris appears at the end of the film, with a waffley apology for destroying the planet. Go team!!!

Quantum of Solace music video
After watching Casino Royale again this weekend in preperation for the new Quantum of Solace I was reminded by the awesome bondness of the music in the film, reminding me of live and let die in many ways. And how the music was integrated well throughout the film. So, I thought I should listen to the new song. And, well, its a white stripes song, not a bond song, it's sad but true. They have tried with the drums and base line, but just doesn't have that same feeling to it. I am not saying it is a bad song (or that it's a good song) just that I don't think it is the right song.
Also, where is the bondness in the music video, there is desert like in the poster, but that is a little weak to be honest, just splicing it in like that, it looks lazy and an afterthought.
Ah well, listen away.

Trailer: Inkheart

Well, I have the feeling, that this could be one of the better family friendly films hollywood throws at us. It seems to be a mix of jumanji abd never ending story. Lots of action, and hopefully some plot to. Hopefully it will be better than that amber spyglass, have to wait and see, but effects and action are a good start for me. Oh, also Paul Bettany, always adds a bit of character to a piece.
Paul Newman passes away

I don't know what to say really, he was awesome in the flicks I saw him in. And, well, what more needs to be said, everyone knows who he was and what he did.
Brannagh is Thors boss!

What the hell is going on, this sounds like an interesting plan. It's definately going to get me in the cinema (not that I wasn't anyway) just to see Brannagh's take on a superhero film. This could potentially be quite interesting, as long as it veers from the slapstick that some Thor concepts in the past have been.
